Dynamical Phase Transition in a Driven Disordered Vortex Lattice.

چکیده
Using Langevin dynamics, we have investigated the dynamics of vortices in a disordered two dimensional superconductor subjected to a uniform driving current. The results provide direct numerical evidence for a dynamical phase transition between a plastic flow regime and a moving “hexatic glass.” The simulated current-voltage characteristics are in excellent agreement with recent transport measurements on amorphous Mo77Ge23 thin film superconductors. 0 Instabilities and disorder - driven first - order transition of the vortex lattice
Transport studies in a Corbino disk geometry suggest that the Bragg glass phase undergoes a first-order transition into a disordered solid. This transition shows a sharp reentrant behavior at low fields. In contrast, in the conventional strip configuration, the phase transition is obscured by the injection of the disordered vortices through the sample edges, which results in the commonly observ...

متن کاملNon equilibrium phase diagrams of current driven Josephson junction arrays
We present a review of our previous numerical studies on non equilibrium vortex dynamics in Josephson Junction arrays (JJA) driven by a dc current. Dynamical phase diagrams for different magnetic fields, current directions and varying temperature are discussed and compared. First, the effect of thermal fluctuations in a current driven diluted vortex lattice (VL) is analyzed. The case of f = 1/2...
متن کاملAmorphous vortex glass phase in strongly disordered superconductors.
We introduce a model describing vortices in strongly disordered three-dimensional superconductors. The model focuses on the topological defects, i.e., dislocation lines, in an elastic description of the vortex lattice. The model is studied using Monte Carlo simulations, revealing a glass phase at low temperatures, separated by a continuous phase transition to the high temperature resistive vort...
متن کاملDynamic Phases of Vortices in Superconductors with Periodic Pinning
We present results from extensive simulations of driven vortex lattices interacting with periodic arrays of pinning sites. Changing an applied driving force produces a rich variety of novel dynamical plastic flow phases which are very distinct from those observed in systems with random pinning arrays. Signatures of the transition between these different dynamical phases include sudden jumps in ...
